| Bob Sevene, World-class CoachWords of wisdom: “I still think it’s a dream to be an Olympian. And I still think you can be one. That’s what keeps us going.” Best known simply as “Sev,” Bob Sevene has been one of the top marathon and track coaches in the world for well over 30 years. His long, distinguished career is highlighted by coaching Joan Benoit Samuelson to a gold medal in the 1984 Olympic Marathon, starting the Greater Boston Track Club and as the founding coach of the East Coast squad of Athletics West (Nike’s elite team). In 2003, the 61-year-old moved to Marina, California to coach Team USA Monterey Bay. |
